Léz’arts Marins
The Lez’Arts Marins mission sets sail aboard its yacht in partnership with FLOW – For Living Oceans and Water, blending citizen science with outreach. Throughout the voyage, the crew rigorously follows the OSPAR protocol: collecting macro-debris (≥ 2.5 cm) and microplastics from the strandline, geolocating each sample, and recording their findings with the new FLOW mobile app, trialled in real conditions. At every port of call, the team also runs open workshops, turning each sampling session into a learning moment where visitors grasp the scale of plastic pollution, practice proper sorting habits, and contribute directly to field data. This dual momentum—gathering reliable scientific data and fostering public engagement—makes Lez’Arts Marins a floating laboratory that tests and refines FLOW’s tools while strengthening a network of coastal sentinels from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.
